BIOGRAPHY

Having performed in Egypt, Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, USA, England and the Netherlands, pianist Seif El Din Sherif is leading a very active Soloist and Chamber Musician‘s life.

He was born in Cairo and started his piano lessons at age 12 with the Talent Development Center of the Library of Alexandria under Iman Nour-El-Din. Soon after, he became a student of the Berlin resident and Egyptian pianist, Yasser Mokhtar. He completed his bachelor studies in the Netherlands (Amsterdam) with Prof. Marcel Baudet and Germany (Leipzig) with Prof. Christian Pohl and Prof. Markus Tomas. In 2018 he was granted his Master of Music in solo performance degree with distinction from the Cologne Music Academy in the class of Prof. Sheila Arnold. In 2017, Seif, along with his colleagues from the "Glinka Trio", won the "Best of NRW" competition from which 32 concert engagements followed. The following year he won the Dörken Foundation Auditions as a soloist and is still supported by their management. Since 2019 he lives in Zurich and attends the Zurich University of the Arts and is a student of Prof. Karl Andreas Kolly.

He is an alumni of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Erasmus Mundus, Kölner Gymnasial und Stiftungsfonds, and Deutschlandstipendium. He is currently a scholarship recipient of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Leipzig, Cologne, and Zürich e.V., as well as the Ergata Foundation, Circle of Friends of Music ZHdK, and the Dr. Pierre and Marie Spring Tschanz Foundation.

Der in Ägypten, Spanien, Italien, Schweiz, USA, Deutschland, England und in den Niederlanden erfolgreich konzertierende Pianist Seif El Din Sherif wurde in Kairo geboren. Im Alter von 12 Jahren begann er am Talent Development Center der Bibliothek von Alexandria unter Iman Nour-El-Din Klavier zu spielen. Sein grundständiges Studium setzte er in den Niederlanden (Amsterdam) mit Prof. Marcel Baudet und Deutschland (Leipzig) mit Prof. Christian Pohl und Prof. Markus Tomas fort.

Seit 2016 studiert er Master of Music Performance an der Kölner Musikhochschule in der Klasse von Prof. Sheila Arnold. In 2017 wurde Seif mit seinen Kollegen aus dem „Glinka-Trio“ für die Konzertreihe „Best of NRW“ von Dörken Stiftung gewählt. Das folgende Jahr gewann als Solist ein Stipendium von der Dörken Stiftung. Seit 2019 lebt er in Zürich wo er mit Prof. Karl Andreas Kolly an der Züricher Hochschule der Künste studiert.

Er ist Alumni der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Erasmus Mundus, Kölner Gymnasial- und Stiftungsfonds, Deutschlandstipendium. Zur Zeit ist er ein Stipendiat der Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Leipzig und Köln e.V. sowie von der Stiftung Ergata, Freundeskreis Musik ZHdK, und die Dr. Pierre und Marie Spring-Tschanz Stiftung.
